Latin America & The War on Democracy

Latin America
BPI: The War on Democracy
BPI: Unreported World : Brazil Slum Warfare

Latin America
First of is my love for this continent. Latin-America is fantastic, the people are so warm, so strong and yet also so rebellious. They have everything us Europeans, northern Americans and other westerners lack. Latin-americans are the warmest and best people you will ever meet, their sense of group and identity and also their culture is fantastic. If you haven't been to Latin-America at least once I advice you to go there.

I'm travelling to Latin-America next year, for 5 months. I'm going to Cuba, Costa Rica, Nicaragua (for two months here), Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico. The two months in Nicaragua will be spent working on my fieldwork. I'm going to write a fieldreport, most likely on the educational program of the sandinista government. Other than that I will visit alot of friends in Nicaragua and also Mexico. Hopefully I also get to visit the EZLN or Zapatistas. If you would like to join me, e-mail me at phanax@hotmail.com.

The War on Democracy
This documentary by John Pilger is exemplary. I've never seen such a good put-together on the attrocities against democracy done in Latin-America, well worth a watch!

Unreported World: Brazil Slum Warfare
I just discovered this series of documentaries, Unreported World, thanks to Kate, and it's wonderful, I've been watching a few episodes so I might post a few here as time goes by, this one is very powerful. Hope you enjoy!

Still, if anybody finds interesting movies by investigative journalists or similar documentaries or any kind of interesting documentary that are critical of society and how things work today, send them my way, I might feature them.
