Ometepe

Having left ometepe we are now on our way back to managua after exploring the island to find out for later what we can do here. Ometepe is the largest fresh water island in the world, and is made up of two still active volcanoes. Tourists come here mainly to relax but there is also the option to hike the two volcanoes. There are many beaches and taking a bath in the lake is safe and refreshing in most parts of the island, though I would advice against taking a bath close to any of the towns. If you go to Nicaragua this is one place you cannot miss.
